The American Rescue Plan is helping individuals and families across Hawaiʻi and our country each and every day. This month, Noah Andrade, a 9 year old student from Noelani Elementary School, wrote my office thanking me for the pandemic relief that has helped his family through the COVID-19 pandemic. I personally called Noah to thank him and shared that additional relief is on the way for his family and families across the nation through the extended Child Tax Credit which will begin on July 15, 2021.

Aloha! It's been another busy month representing the people of Hawaiʻi's second congressional district. In May, we celebrated Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, culminating in the signing of our anti-Asian hate bill into law! Now, with Central Pacific hurricane season starting today, I want to ensure each of us is well prepared for any emergency.

Aloha! This past month marked 100 days since I took office. In that time, I've been hard at work advancing important legislation to address a number of pressing challenges our country faces including COVID-19, voting rights, police misconduct, gun safety, gender discrimination and protecting our dreamers. As I continue to serve as your voice in Congress, I want to ensure you know that my office and I are working for you.
